Media

Online Media Application has ended.  Media may register on-site at the event, Desert Breeze Soccer Complex, beginning at 3:00 PM on Wednesday September 16. A media staff representative will be on-site to review and qualify registering media using the criteria listed above. You should prepare your credential materials in advance, access to the internet in order for you to prepare  your credential materials will not be possible.  Travel to the event does not guarantee accreditation.

 

The Following Will Not Be Provided Accreditation (you will be required to purchase admission):

  • Freelancers without a specific editorial assignment.
  • Photographers without a specific/written editorial assignment.
  • Blog writers/owners that do not provide the defined site analytics.
  • Personal blogs/Hobby blogs do not qualify as media.
  • Credentials without all of the required items, as detailed above.
  • People who applied online and were denied credentials.
  • Spouses or children may attend but must purchase admission.

 

Access to the Media Tent is through the Media Only Entrance south of the Front Gate.

Photographers may apply for a Photo Vest to receive access to special photo areas, including the finish line. A Media Credential does not provide access to those areas. Because space is limited not all photographers will be approved for a Photo Vest. No more than two (2) Photo Vests will be provided to any organization.

 

Accreditation Criteria:

Please provide two (2) of the following acceptable credentials by September 9, 2015. After September 9, 2015 all documentation must be presented ON-SITE.

 

PLEASE NOTE, IF PROPER FORMS OF CREDENTIALS ARE NOT PROVIDED BOTH ONLINE AND ON-SITE, YOU MAY BE DENIED ACCREDITATION. TRAVEL TO THE EVENT DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACCREDITATION.

 

CLIF Bar CrossVegas is open to trade and consumer-focused media outlets including print, TV, radio and online as well as any writer, photographer, and editor with an editorial assignment to cover the event for a media outlet that regularly covers cycling events.

 

Advertising sales representatives, publishers, producers, marketing staff, promotion companies, Social Media agencies, PR agencies, and Advertising/Branding agencies, casting directors, film makers, spouses and children will not be admitted to the event as Media—these representatives are welcome to attend, but will have to purchase admission.

 

Magazine and Newspaper Editorial Staff - Two (2) of the following:


A scanned copy of the publication masthead including your name and title.

 

• A scanned copy or link to original, bylined editorial work, showing coverage within the bicycle industry from the last three months.

 

• An email or scan of original letter on assigning publication’s letterhead from assigning editor or news director with a writing assignment detailing a specific coverage assignment at the event.

 

TV Crews, Reporters, Cameras / Photo Editors/ Technicians - Two (2) of the following:


• A station issued, current Press photo I.D.

 

• A business card from a major TV network reflecting your editorial role.

 

• A letter from the news director or assignment editor on station/network letterhead saying that you have been assigned to represent the organization in an editorial capacity at CrossVegas. Coverage must be done independently and not solicited by sponsoring companies.

 

Photo Editors: are required to provide a letter from the news director or assignment editor on station/network letterhead saying that you have been assigned to represent the organization in an editorial capacity at CrossVegas. Coverage must be done independently and not solicited by sponsoring companies. Without an assignment, you will not be approved for accreditation. Producers are welcome to attend, but will need to do so as a paid spectator.

 

Freelance and Contributing Writers, Photographers - Two of the following:


• A scanned or linked examples of your published, editorial work in assigning publication with bylined product coverage within the bicycle industry, in the last three months.

 

• An email or scan of original letter on assigning publication’s letterhead from assigning editor or news director with a writing assignment detailing a specific coverage assignment at the event.

 

• Photographers are required to provide a letter from the news director or assignment editor on station/network letterhead saying that you have been assigned to represent the organization in an editorial capacity at CrossVegas. Coverage must be done independently and not solicited by sponsoring companies. Without an assignment, you will not be approved for accreditation.

 

Websites/Blogs - Two of the following:


• A scanned monthly traffic report from an external demographic tool, like Google Analytics, verifying the site or blog gets a minimum of 5,000 or more unique monthly visitors (UMVs).

 

• A scanned copy or link to original, bylined editorial work showing coverage within the bicycle industry from the last three months.

 

NOTE: The Web publication must be a previously established, independent site that is updated at least biweekly with original and industry-related news. The site must have a proven track record showing coverage of products and events within the bicycle industry for at least 1 year.

 YouTube, Facebook, Twitter sites, personal blogs, forums, crowd sourcing sites and users groups will not be considered for accreditation.

 

To maintain PCI Compliance, be sure to black out the following information prior to sending your credentials: credit card numbers and any government issued ID, Sales, Tax or SSN numbers.

CrossVegas reserves the right to approve or deny all media credential requests at its sole discretion.

 

• CrossVegas reserves the right to modify media qualification policies at any time.

 

• A history of being registered at previous events does not guarantee approval or waive the accreditation requirement. Misconduct or misrepresentation of position and/or publication/news organization will bar you and your organization from all future events.

 

• By providing your information, you explicitly consent to receive fax, telephone and email communications from CrossVegas under 47 U.S.C. Code 227 and any other applicable regulations.
